From September 9th to 10th, the 2021 4th China International Photovoltaic Industry Summit Forum was grandly held in Chengdu Tongwei International Center. The theme of this forum is “A New Journey for Zero Carbon New Era Photovoltaics”. Important leaders from the central, provincial, and municipal governments and industry associations, industry experts, leading entrepreneurs, and corporate elites gathered together to gather intelligence and talk together Under the “dual carbon” vision, a new path for the high-quality development of the photovoltaic industry will help my country and the world achieve the goal of carbon neutrality at an early date.
On September 10th, the 2021 4th China International Photovoltaic Industry Summit Forum was successfully held in Chengdu, Sichuan. The chairman of Tongwei Group’s board of directors pointed out at the forum: “China has formed an annual photovoltaic system capacity of about 200 GW, and the electricity generated by the products produced each year is equivalent to the equivalent of 100 million tons of oil. Photovoltaics is the background of carbon neutrality. The new oil, the future energy-exporting country is very likely to turn from the Middle East to China, changing the world’s new energy landscape.”
On August 9, the latest climate analysis report issued by the United Nations pointed out that since the 19th century, humans have obtained energy by burning fossil fuels, causing the global temperature to be 1.1 degrees Celsius higher than the pre-industrial level, and it will continue to rise in the next two decades. , By then it will be more than 1.5 degrees Celsius higher than the pre-industrial level. Extreme weather around the world will be more frequent and obvious. The report pointed out that at the end of this century, it is difficult to stabilize the climate at a temperature rise of 1.5 degrees Celsius before the level of industrialization and to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. To achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, carbon dioxide emissions need to be significantly reduced in the next 10 years, and net-zero emissions will be achieved by 2050. The Secretary-General of the United Nations, therefore, pointed out that this report is “a red alert for mankind. Before coal and fossil fuels destroy the earth, they must sound their death knell!”
In September last year, President Xi Jinping announced at the United Nations General Assembly: China’s carbon dioxide emissions will peak by 2030 and be carbon neutral by 2060. The solemn commitment demonstrates China’s role as a major country in actively responding to climate change and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. More than 190 countries around the world have once again formed a high degree of consensus to jointly tackle global climate change.
At present, photovoltaic power generation has become the most economical power generation method in many countries and regions around the world. It has the conditions for large-scale application and gradually replaces fossil energy, and will become the first protagonist of future energy development.
We all think that comparing photovoltaic, wind, renewable water, and biomass energy, photovoltaic technology is relatively inexhaustible unlimited resources and conversion efficiency in the visible technology path in the next few decades. High, short path, and high use efficiency will become the first protagonist in carbon neutrality. Some of the research scopes say that it will account for 40% of the future energy composition, and some say that it will reach 80%. There is a high probability range. Everyone believes that 60% to 80% will be provided by photovoltaics.
In the past ten years or so, with the continuous expansion of the scale of the industry, the continuous acceleration of technological iterations, and the rapid promotion of intelligent manufacturing, the cost of photovoltaic power generation systems has dropped by more than 90%. At the same time, the cost of photovoltaic power generation in my country has also been reduced from 3 to 5 yuan per kilowatt-hour to 30 to 3.5 cents per kilowatt-hour in the past two years. This year, it is expected to achieve parity on the Internet. “During this period, it will continue to be reduced to below 0.25 yuan/kWh, and the cost of photovoltaic power generation will be lower than most coal-fired power generation by then. At present, photovoltaic power generation in China has basically achieved parity on the grid, and the cost of power generation has actually been reduced to about 10 US dollars per barrel of crude oil, and the entire process of power generation has zero pollution and zero emissions. China has formed an annual photovoltaic system capacity of about 200GW, and the electricity generated by the products produced each year is equivalent to the equivalent of 100 million tons of oil.
Here are two more data, we must share with you, we have achieved “fishing and light integration”, the following production of more than one ton of safe aquatic products, the same period of one acre of land resources, pond resources, the top one year It will output 10 to 20 tons, and a place with good sunlight will be equivalent to 30 tons of oil equivalent clean power energy.
In this context, accelerating the development of renewable energy represented by photovoltaics and wind energy, and advancing the electrification of automobiles, electrification of energy consumption, and clean electricity production are not only the only way to achieve carbon neutrality but also to strengthen my country’s energy and foreign exchange. The inevitable choice of the security system. In fact, with the sound development of China’s photovoltaic industry itself and the resolute implementation of government departments, coupled with a virtuous economic cycle, China’s dual carbon goal may be achieved 5 to 10 years ahead of schedule with the joint efforts of everyone.
Research and analysis have shown that photovoltaics are the new oil under the background of carbon neutrality. In the future, major energy-exporting countries are likely to switch from the Middle East to China, changing the world’s new energy pattern. In the decade of the Sino-US photovoltaic game, China’s photovoltaic industry has not given up, but has become more courageous with the frustration, the stronger the war, and the rapid rise!
In this process, there are two data. As mentioned on the big screen at the opening, McKinsey’s research report made a comprehensive comparison of the leading industries between China and the United States and came to a conclusion that China’s photovoltaic industry is the only industry in China and the United States that is absolutely ahead and has a full circle of pie charts. There are two more pieces of data to share with you. For a while, everyone said that polysilicon is a high-energy-carrying industry. The production of polysilicon originally required 300 kWh and one kilogram, but now it has dropped from 50 kWh to 60 kWh. Pull rod slicing is still needed. From 20 to 30 kWh, almost 20 kWh of electricity will be consumed in the production of glass-aluminum alloy battery manufacturing components. However, the system corresponding to three kilograms of polysilicon consumes a total of 300 kilowatt-hours of electricity. About 4 to 6 months after its completion, it can fully recover everything from sand to industrial silicon, to polysilicon, to monocrystalline silicon, to batteries, to modules. The energy consumption of the whole process, the world’s average is no more than 6 months, the designed system life is 25 years, and it can work for 30 to 50 years where conditions permit. This is the highest energy utilization and input-output in human history. One of the industries. At the same time, there is also a piece of data to share with you. On our way to carbon peak and carbon neutrality, we are all on energy conservation, emission reduction, and energy consumption control. We have carefully analyzed the energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions of the photovoltaic industry, from one ton of carbon dioxide emissions. From a different point of view, the photovoltaic power generation system formed in the process of emitting one ton of carbon dioxide will save and reduce the emission of 30 to 50 tons of carbon dioxide in one year of work. This data is very very spectacular. It consumes 1 ton and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 30 to 50 tons during the same period.
Therefore, looking forward to the new journey of carbon neutrality in the next 30 years, we need to develop strong skills to truly promote the sustainable operation and sound development of energy, and help my country achieve energy self-sufficiency. In this context, regardless of the smog problem, economic sustainability Development issues, environmental issues, or foreign exchange security issues, international energy transportation issues, etc., these major “stuck neck” issues can all be solved by this. In the course of these 30 years in the future, China will carry the great banner of the energy transition of all mankind and the sustainable development of the earth. Made in China will promote the energy transition of western developed countries and help the underdeveloped countries along the “Belt and Road” start to start energy. It is built on the basis of clean and sustainable energy.
In this great process, Made in China has firmly guided, participated in, and promoted the global energy transformation. On the moral commanding heights, economic commanding heights, and key points of the industry, China has walked ahead of the world!
